I’ve been hard at work these past few days adding as many features into iArmory as I could think of, in anticipation of a public release. Most of what everyone’s been asking for (the most requested features) have been added in this version. The full changelog is below:
- [ADDED] Added full listning for base stats, melee stats, ranged stats, spell stats, and defense stats, as well as resistances. Certain items (marked in black) can be clicked on for more information.
- [ADDED] Added a list of all the buffs currently affecting a player. You can click on a buff to get its full description.
- [ADDED] You can now click on any item to get its full stats!
- [ADDED] Each item is now colored appropriately depending on its rarity.
- [ADDED] Item information is now cached, so load times will be significantly faster after the initial query.
- [ADDED] Added a row with a player’s lifetime honorable kills.
- [ADDED] Added rows for health and rage/mana/energy and highlighted the rows with their respective colors.
- [FIXED] Fixed a bug where viewing multiple characters in a row would result in item stats not properly loading.
- [FIXED] Items with random enchantments (XXX of …) will now properly be displayed.
- [FIXED] If the armory is down or otherwise unavailable, an error message is now properly shown instead of just a white screen.
- [FIXED] An invalid name/realm will now properly show an error message instead of just a white screen.
- [FIXED] Fixed a bug where the realm dropdown list would only show the first 300 realms (cutting off at R).
- [FIXED] EU players can now properly load their item information.
For all those who requested to be in the alpha test, please realize I got over 2000 e-mails (since i got linked to from websites such as Wow Insider. I went through each e-mail, and depending on several criteria (including about 200 which were randomly chosen), I’ve selected about 350-400 testers for iArmory. If you are one of these testers, you should have gotten an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided recently. You will be given the link to iArmory, as well as the full information for accessing and using it, later tonight.
Additionally, a few people (10 lucky randomly chosen testers), as well as anyone who is a Twitter follower of mine and saw my tweet and sent me an e-mail with the code word when I asked for it got a front row seat, and are actually playing around with iArmory now!

My apologies for the lack of WoW-related posts recently, but I’ve been hard at work at implementing two of the most commonly requested features for iArmory: support for EU characters/realms, and a dropdown box to help you select your realm. I also fixed a minor bug that was slightly annoying. The full changelist:
- [ADDED] Added a dropdown box for realm selection
- [ADDED] Added support for EU characters/realms, and the option to select between the two in the Player Lookup screen
- [ADDED] Added a Changelog section which will list all changes made in each version
- [FIXED] Long professions such as “Jewelcrafting”, “Blacksmithing”, and “Leatherworking” will no longer overflow the input area
Thanks to all those who’ve been testing out iArmory for me and giving me their feedback. I’ve received some tremendous ideas and suggestions for what you’d like to see in iArmory, and they’re things I wouldn’t have thought of myself. Expect to see them added shortly.
If you own an iPhone or iPod Touch and would like to become a tester for me (give me feedback, or just play around with it), send me a quick note using the Contact page.

Have you ever read through a blog post (such as my own) in Google Reader and wished you could hover over the item links and see that familiar Wowhead tooltip? Well now you can, thanks to a fantastic Greasemonkey script! It’s a simple three step process:
- First, get Greasemonkey if you don’t have it:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
- Now restart Firefox, then install this Greasemonkey script:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/16762
- Now right click the monkey in the bottom right of your browser, and click [Manage User Scripts]. In the left hand side you should see an item titled WowheadTooltips, click on it. Now click on [Add] twice over on the right side, and add the following URLs:
http://www.google.com/reader/view/*

That’s it! Open Google Reader and enjoy, ;)
Test it out with the following items: One | Two | Three
